about us
Islam Net is a Muslim organization in the capital of Norway – Oslo – in Scandinavia. 
We established ourselves in 2008 to provide you, all Muslims, and especially the youth of Norway, active and effective modern dawah suitable for Islam in the 21st century. We are the only organization in Norway working on a mass level to reach out to the youth with digital media. We arrange Norway’s largest and most attended Islamic conferences for the youth, are active in giving Dawah out in the streets, and defend Islam and our values in debates on national TV with Norway’s top politicians.

Our main mission is to inspire the masses of Muslims to come closer to Allah, and invite non-Muslims to the beautiful message of Islam.

A summary of our primary focus is that we work for your success in this Duniya and in the Akhirah. Thus, our projects will also reflect this value.

We strive to achieve our goals through multimedia, research, publications, courses, conferences and debates. In order for our work to be as focused as possible, goal-oriented and effective, we have created various subgroups of Islam Net that all have their own focus areas. Islam Net acts as the Islamic network that binds the various subgroups and the Dawah work together.
The mega masjid project

We signed the contract and paid the first installment to purchase a 2700 m2 building with its own 7560 m2 land - Allahu Akbar!

Alhamdulillah, the last installment for the property was paid!
  2022
Alhamdulillah, we refurbished the inside of the existing building. Walls were fixed, paintet and lots of improvements to the property was made!

Finally, we opened the Masjid for 5 daily prayers, Jummuah prayer, Qur'an classes, Duroos, lectures, Eid festivals, conferences and other activities - Alhamdulillah!

We have built a youth center with multiple facilities to attract the youth to the Masjid.

We have installed security cameras and built security fences to protect the Masjid from Islamophobic attacks.

We need to raise funds for the main construction project in order to expand the Masjid structure and rebuild it into a fully functioning mega Masjid, Dawah and community center!

The Waqf project
The concept of Waqf was instituted by the Prophet ﷺ and has the potential to create immeasurable benefits and rewards.

A Waqf is an Islamic trust fund for the Muslim community. Its property and proceeds are to be used for a good cause. They cannot be utilized for anyone’s personal benefit.

To establish a Waqf is one of the best acts of worship highly recommended in Islam!

Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) got a big plot of land in Khaybar. Because of its good quality and excellence, he considered it the most valuable of his possessions!

The companions used to compete in doing good deeds.

Allah then revealed the verse:
لَن تَنَالُوا۟ ٱلْبِرَّ حَتَّىٰ تُنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ ۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِن شَىْءٍۢ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌۭ
“You will not attain righteousness until you spend from that which you love. And whatever you spend - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it.”
[Quran 3:92]
Umar (RA) went to the Prophet ﷺ to give Sadaqah, seeking to attain this righteousness that Allah mentioned in the verse.

The Prophet ﷺ did not tell him to sell the land and give its value in charity.

Instead, the Prophet ﷺ advised him of the best type of charity, and that was to make the land a Waqf – an endowment – so its proceeds could be used for charitable purposes.

This way of giving Sadaqah would benefit the Ummah not as a one-off benefit but as a continual benefit for all time to come.

And Umar (RA), would be reaping its Ajr all the way until he would stand in front of Allah!
